Bryan, himself an actor in community theatre, finally achieved that dream, though not in the way he always imagined. Bryan made it to a Broadway stage on Friday, Sept. 24, when the musical director for “Wicked” included him in prayer for his recovery from COVID-19.
Despite being fully vaccinated against the virus, Bryan lost his battle with it and passed away on Sunday, Sept. 26, at the age of 64.
Bryan was born Jan. 31, 1957, in Detroit to Keith and Barbara (Demetsenare) Kadrich, both of whom preceded him in death. He grew up in Warren, Mich., and graduated from Lincoln High School in June 1975.
After briefly attending the University of Michigan, he eventually began a career in the wire industry, producing wire and cable. He struck out on his own by opening his own company in April 1986 and, over 35 years, helped build a very successful company, CablCon, which developed a strong reputation in the industry.
His acting career really started in high school, when he played the title character in “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.” He later took to the stage with Grosse Pointe Theatre and with L.I.F.E. Players at First English Evangelical Lutheran Church. Among his favorite productions: Playing Tevye in “Fiddler on the Roof” (in which he appeared with his eldest daughter, Heather, and son-in-law Nate Castle), and “Spamalot.”
When in New York (his favorite travel destination), Bryan and his family routinely took in Broadway plays. Among his favorites: “Man of La Mancha” and “Annie Get Your Gun.”
Bryan is survived by his wife of 44 years, Margaret “Peggy” (Zoss) Kadrich; daughters Heather Kadrich, Hilary (Nathan) Castle, Hope (fiancé Joseph Mrowka) Kadrich, and Hannah Kadrich; sister Leslie Mahlmeister; brothers Kevin (Tammy) and Bradley Kadrich; grandson Silas Castle; granddaughters Sayre and Arden Castle; 10 nieces and nephews; 5 great-nieces; and one great-nephew.
Visitation is set for 2-8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 4, at A.H. Peters Funeral Services, 32000 Schoenherr (at Masonic) in Warren. The funeral service is scheduled 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 5, also at A.H. Peters.
The family is requesting ALL GUESTS WEAR MASKS, REGARDLESS of vaccination status.
Flowers are welcomed, and donations can be made to the Lucky Fin Project.
