

Age 75, passed away on March 12, 2026. Carlos was born in Lima, Peru, on September 4, 1950, to his beloved parents, the late Teofilo and Leonor Cordero. From his earliest days, he carried with him a strong sense of family, perseverance, and curiosity about the world, qualities that would shape the remarkable life he went on to live.
At the age of 27, Carlos made the courageous decision to immigrate to the United States in pursuit of new opportunities and a brighter future. Shortly thereafter, he proudly answered the call to serve by joining the United States Marine Corps. His time in the Marines reflected the dedication, discipline, and pride that defined him throughout his life.
Above all else, Carlos was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He shared 34 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Mae Cordero (née Alvarez). Together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. He was a loving father to Patrick Cordero and Mary Cordero, who were among his greatest joys and proudest accomplishments.
Carlos is also survived by his dear siblings: Maximo A. (the late Elba) Cordero, Ana Maria Cordero, and Jose Cordero. He was a cherished uncle to Rose, a proud great-uncle to Jenna Danielle, and a loving great-uncle and godfather to Frances Marie. Carlos also leaves behind many other beloved family members and friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, wisdom, and warm spirit.
Carlos had a deep love of travel and adventure. Some of his favorite memories were made visiting places like New York, Virginia, Las Vegas, and California. Whether the journey was by plane or by car, what mattered most to him was that he was traveling with his family, creating moments that would be treasured forever.
Family was the center of Carlos’s world. He cherished family dinners filled with laughter, storytelling, and connection. Despite distance, he remained closely connected to relatives overseas, often spending time in heartfelt conversations that kept those bonds strong.
A lifelong lover of books, Carlos was a true bibliophile. He could often be found immersed in the pages of a history book, exploring the stories and lessons of the past. His quiet moments of reading reflected his thoughtful nature and his endless curiosity about the world.
Those who knew Carlos will remember his steady presence, his devotion to those he loved, and the pride he carried in his family and his life’s journey. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the love he shared so freely.
Visitation will take place on Friday, March 20th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at D.S. Temrowski and Sons Funeral Home 30009 Hoover Road Warren, Michigan 48093.
