Celia Theresa Scaccia, age 91 of Warren, died Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Cherrywood Nursing Home in Sterling Heights. She was born on March 2, 1920 in Hamtramck, the daughter of the late Martin J. and the late Mary D. (nee: Kubic) Huchla.Along with being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Celia was also proud of the dedicated service she extended as an assembly line worker in the automotive industry. When she wasn't working or tending to the needs of family, she enjoyed keeping her hands busy through her skills and talents in sewing. She was an impeccable seamstress with an attention to detail that was unmatched by any other. She was also a lover of animals, especially when it came to her favorite species of all, her feline friends. Celia was a truly a cat lover. And, like most mom's and grandma's, Celia definitely knew her way around the kitchen. She was a great cook who enjoyed providing wonderful repasts around the table, and there was nary-a-belly that left her table hungry. Some tasty delights were derived from her cooking prowess. But perhaps the treat she will be remembered for the most was her delicious Lemon Meringe Pie. Celia was most proud of her Polish heritage and her membership in the Polish Women's Alliance, a fraternal society dedicated to preserving and fostering the traditions and cultural identity of the Polish heritage and serving the needs of the Polish and Polish American communities for over 100 years. From a lady who possessed a heart as big as the moon, Celia found great enjoyment in the caregiving outreach she shared with her fellow members in this esteemed organization. But without question, Celia's greatest passion in life was realized through her devotion to family. Especially so were the apples of her eye, her precious grandsons. She loved being involved in their lives and was their biggest cheerleader at the various sporting events in which they participated. She never missed a chance to root them on and extend her support toward their efforts. Together they enjoyed a storehouse of exciting and momentous memories. She leaves behind a legacy of love that is strong and true, and a treasure-trove of memories that will keep her ever close in the many hearts she touched along life's way. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally. She was the beloved wife of Florino. Loving mother of Mary (Matt) Szymanski. Proud grandmother of Michael and Jeremy.
