Cheryl Cook, age 74 of Madison Heights, died Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren. Cheryl was born November 28, 1945 in Detroit, daughter of the late James and the late Blondell (nee: Kirkland) Johnson.
Growing up, Cheryl’s father would always say he was Macedonian and her mother was Heinz 57… a little bit of everything! She was a resident of Madison Heights for 50 years. After attending Grosse Pointe High School, Cheryl stayed home to raise her family, eventually working for the Taurus Company where she built circuit boards until her retirement.
Cheryl was blessed with three wonderful children, Lisa, Wendy, and Chris. She was sure to never miss any of their sporting events over the many years. In her leisure time, Cheryl loved playing the piano, reading a good book, playing Bingo, getting her nails done, and bowling. She was an avid fan of watching her favorite sports teams, Pistons Basketball, Michigan Football, and Tigers Baseball. She was dedicated to getting her fix of a Port Hope burger by traveling all the way Up North for a bite. You could usually find Cheryl sitting outside with her friends, going out to dinner on a Friday night, and listening to her favorite country singer, Alan Jackson.
A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, Cheryl leaves a host of family and friends who were precious to her. Even so, she will be missed immensely and loved eternally.
Cheryl was the beloved mother of Lisa (Lenny Dunford) Cook, Wendy Turala, and Chris (Nicole) Cook. Loving grandmother of Madelyn, Alivia, Sydney, and Bryce. Dear sister of Joni (Steve) Neveaux, and Dana (Sandy) Johnson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren, Michigan.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
