

Clarence Casey Schmidt, 85, of Warren died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at his home. He was born April 25, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan to the late John J. and the late Elizabeth (nee: Bierzynski) Schmidt. Clarence served his county proudly in World War II. He served most of his time in the Philippines where he earned many of his medals. He later began working for Montgomery Ward as a sales clerk for several years. Mr. Schmidt had been a resident of Warren since 1960 and was a long time member of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Casey enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing softball, and baseball. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Casey is survived by his children; Richard (Jean), Diane (Joseph) Holland, Audrey (Gary) Pricor, and Pam Dombrowski; his 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, his siblings; Richard, and David Schmidt. He is predeceased by his parents, John J. and Elizabeth Schmidt; his wife, Mary Schmidt; his daughter, Paula Schmidt; and his brother, Donald Schmidt. Visitation for Clarence will be Thursday 5-9 pm and Friday 2-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover at Common (12 Mile). He will lie in state Saturday at 11:00 am until time of funeral Mass at 11:30 am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Warren. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery in Fraser.
