Colleen Rose Edwards, age 84 of Fraser, died Saturday, February 20, 2016 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren. She was born August 26, 1931 in Bay City, Michigan, daughter of the late Edward Verne and the late Margaret Lee (nee: Tackman) Ludwig.Being proud of her well-earned status as Realtor, Colleen was especially proud of being one of Michigan's first women in the field of real estate. With strong work ethics and a heart towards sales and customer service, Colleen managed to build quite the loyal clientel and helped many-a-family find their new home over the years. And not merely a realtor, Colleen was also partnered with her husband in a business of their own by the name of Maximum Security Patrol. So obviously, between the two, she didn't have a lot of down time. When she was able to get away and enjoy some time to herself, you'd often find Colleen out in the garden pouring the best parts of her nurturing nature and green thumb into its growth and beauty. She was always proud of what it produced, and in the fruits of her labors. Another of her favorite pastimes was enjoyed with each trip made to the heart of Michigan, up north in Mio, where she loved to ride her horses. There was something relaxing and freeing in her soul each time she saddled up and joined her four-legged friends on one of their jaunts. Known to all for possessing a fun and adventuresome spirit, it was no surprise that Colleen lived for those "spur-of-the-moment" occasions where her personality and innovative nature paved the way for exciting and memorable times. God gave her a big heart, and she always loved to be around a lot of people. With a soft and compassionate demeanor that lit the way for many, Colleen touched a multitude of lives with her warm-hearted, kind, generous and sacrificial spirit. This was never more appreciated and enjoyed than in the company of family and friends,…and never more prevalent than around the table at the Big Holiday Dinners. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Colleen leaves behind a storehouse of wonderful memories to embrace with each reflection shared. Her family meant the world to her, and now she goes on ahead to welcome them home as God calls. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally. Colleen was the beloved mother of Vicki Johnson, Richard (Diane) Vacante, Lynnette (Thomas) Scherer, Larry Edwards, the late Joseph Vacante, the late John Edwards, and stepson, Gene Edwards. She was the loving grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 7. Visitation for Colleen will be held on Friday, February 26th from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Her Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, 11:00 am at the funeral home.
