Craig and his high school sweetheart, Debby, shared their lives together for more than 50 years. He was her rock, hero, and the love of her life as she was his.
Craig was a skilled mechanic who loved helping others. Throughout his lifetime he enjoyed cars, racing, biking, baseball, bowling, hockey, playing cards, wood working, movies, snowmobiling, golfing, volleyball, horseshoes, grilling, hunting and long drives. But more than anything else, Craig loved Debby, his children and his grandchildren. He chose actions over words when it came to love, regularly showing those around him how much he cared for them.
He had a lifetime of friends, many that he kept from his childhood. Craig worked for Ford Motor Company starting in the gear lab and advancing his career to an engineer where he earned many awards. He always strived to make Ford a better place. He enjoyed the guys he worked with and continued to keep in touch and spoke of them often after retirement. So many people benefited from his passion and expertise.
Craig is the loving husband of Debby (Gaines) MacLauren. Beloved father of Brandi Reaume, Kimberly Allison, Christopher MacLauren, Jamie (Curtis) MacLauren. Cherished grandfather to Jessica (Robert) Yustick, Ashlee Reaume, Sydney and Samantha Allison. He is the loving son of the late Alexander and Zola (Jones) MacLauren, brother to Mary (Alvin) Nunley, Alexander MacLauren and was preceded in death by siblings Brett MacLauren and Sandra McCommons. Craig is brother-in-law to Thomas Gaines, Timothy (Patricia) Gaines, Rowland (Linda) Gaines, preceded in death by his in-laws Marjie and Harold Eckhout, Nancy "Sue" (Robert) Sangret and Mary Hyslop. Also, dearest uncle and great uncle to several nieces and nephews.
There are not enough words to describe what an extraordinary man he was. He was creative and compassionate with a huge heart and uplifting sense of humor. He was always willing to share his talents and pass along his knowledge. Words will never express how much he is loved and how deeply he will be missed. To honor and respect Craig's wishes, he will be cremated without service. May his soul find peace.
