Darwin L. Burke, Sr., - WARREN – (age 83), was born to eternal life on August 21, 2023, surrounded by his family at home. Born April 10, 1940, in Dorton, KY, son of Darwin Burke and Ruth C. (Sanders) Burke.
Loving father of father of Cheri Ellison, Deborah (John) Collins, Cora Daniel, Kathleen (Kevin) Becker and Darwin L. (Jessica) Burke, Jr.; dear grandfather of 11; great grandfather of 8; great great grandfather of 2; and brother of Donald (Janice T. Terry) Burke and Kenneth Burke. Preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Janet and Sandra.
Darwin was a proud United States Army veteran who served his country between 1959 and 1962. He retired from Harper Hospital following a 37-year career as a registered nurse. Lover of books and classical music, Darwin was also the proud owner of prize-winning German shepherds. He generously and proudly shared his pictures and stories! He will be deeply missed.
Visitation and celebration of Darwin’s life will be held at Temrowski and Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd., Warren, MI 48093 on August 27, 2023, from 4-5:30 p.m., with memorial service 5:30-6:00 p.m. Private burial to follow.
