David J. Ostrowski Sr., age 68 of Warren, died Monday, May 16, 2011 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb Center in Warren. He was born on December 13, 1942 in Eastpointe, the son of Edward and Rita (nee: Gnebba) Ostrowski. David was employed by the Chrysler Corporation as a Machine Repairman where he extended many years of dedicated service until his retirement. To this devoted husband, thoughtful son, loving father and doting grandfather, family came first and meant more to him than anything else in life. Yet, David had some personal passions in life that brought him great enjoyment as well. Whenever he got the chance, one of his favorite pastimes was definitely spending time down at the ol' fishin' hole. An avid fisherman, he loved being immersed in the peacefulness of the sport. He also loved "games of chance" which often found their form through playing cards, or challenging his luck with the "one-armed-bandits" at the casino. David was renown, as well, as being a devoted Detroit sports fan, especially when it came to his favorite Detroit Red Wings. Toward the end, he knew that his time was short, so he made the most of it,...not only with all the above, but with his precious family, too. He will be missed immensely and remembered eternally. He was the beloved husband of Carol. Dear father of Theresa (Jim) Carter, David Ostrowski, Denise Wroblewski, Paul (Marcy) Webster, and Micheal (Jianyan) Webster. Loving grandfather of Brandon (Sarah), Rachel, Crystal (Jeremy), Kaylin, Kayla, Brittany, and Nicholas. Brother of Edward (Debbie), Richard (Kay), Robert (Ann), Barbara (Vic) Kreschmer, and the late Donald. Also survived by sister-in-law, Alice Ostrowski. Visitation for David will be held on Wednesday, May 18th from 3-9pm, with a 7pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. In State Thursday from 9:30am until the time of Mass at 10:00am at St. Clement Catholic Church, 8075 Ritter Avenue, Center Line, Michigan. Officiating the liturgy will be Rev. Fr. Mike Gawlowski. Interment will follow at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan. Please share memories of David at his guest book.
