David Gerald Storment, age 43 of Flint, died Friday, April 3, 2015 at his residence. He was born March 7, 1972 in Warren, Michigan, son of Audrey (Robert) Rocco (nee: Sollars), formerly Storment.First & foremost, David loved his family and thoroughly enjoyed each opportunity he was afforded in their company. Known more affectionately as "Biggest Dave," he was a kindhearted soul with a great sense of humor whose favorite times were those spent at Grandma & Grandpa's place during the holidays. It was there that everyone would be in attendance, and David would be in his glory. Of course, he already had a leg up by being the eldest grandchild,…and was darn proud of it, too! David was truly an easy person to be around, and one who attracted others, simply, with his infectious laugh. He loved to laugh, and certainly loved sharing it with whoever was in his presence. It was all about bringing joy into the lives of others and enjoying the positive effects that laughing produced. And laughter was always pervasive when he and fellow family members would gather 'round the table for a rousing game of Euchre. Playing cards provided David countless hours of fun, and a host of wonderful family memories to draw upon. He never had children of his own, but David possessed the heart and compassion of a loving father and shared it with the many kids that passed through his life. When looking for that perfect "mental escape," he would often cue up some of his favorite music,…the classics from the 80's and 90's rock scene. And like most guys, speed & power reigned supreme when it came to his love of cars. David was extremely talented with his hands, which bode well for his career choice in construction. Working for many years as a carpenter, he was an integral part of numerous projects, both small and large. When he wasn't working, one of his favorite getaways was spending time at Grandpa's property enjoying the peacefulness and serenity of the outdoors. David loved the outdoors and all that it provided him in his quest to be refreshed and renewed.A life gone far too soon from our presence, David's journey leaves a storehouse of precious memories to draw from,…the laughter, the warmth, the affections, all of which we can only hope will soften the hurt and challenge us to do what David would ask,…remember him,…then laugh! He will be missed immensely and loved eternally.David was the beloved son of Audrey (Robert) Rocco, and Grandson of Marilyn (the late Gerald) Sollars and Attilio & Mary Rocco. Dearest brother of Jennifer Storment; cherished uncle of Cameron Helme; and loving nephew of Ronald (Elayne) Sollars, Peggy (the late Joe) Cooper, Joyce Harrison, Phyllis (David) Robb, Joann Evans, Frank (Cynthia) Rocco, and Paula (Gary) Pritchard. He is also survived by many treasured cousins.Visitation for David will be held Friday, April 10th from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm, with an 8:00 pm Funeral Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Please share memories of David at his memory book above.
