Dominic Queentry, age 72 of Warren, died on October 2, 2009 at his home. Born on July 4, 1937 in Detroit, he was the son of the late Guisseppe and the late Rose Fiumedinisi. With thanks & praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to Dominic for the call to duty he proudly answered by serving as a sailor in the United States Navy. Dominic was a dedicated employee who worked the assembly line for the Chrysler Corporation for over 30 years, until his retirement in 2000. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed an array of pleasures. From casting his line at a favorite fishin' hole, to trying his luck at the casinos, or simply sitting down in front of the TV to enjoy some of the old-time movies, he truly knew how to balance work with play. Another thing Dominic will be remembered for is his appreciation for food. As his boy's recall, "Dad loved to eat!" Especially when it came to a tasty steak sandwich or the heaping goodness of a fresh canoli. But of all his favorite pastimes, the thing he enjoyed the most was playin' cards. Whether it was Uno with the grandkids, or pinnocle and poker with his pals, Dominic loved playing card games. He leaves behind a legacy of love for the family & friends that meant so much to him, especially his grandsons. Beloved husband of the late Barbara. Loving father of Dominic (Sue), Mark, Pamela (Lee), Christine (Fred), Robert Kalubisky, and Nicholas (Collette) Kalubisky. Dear grandfather of Christopher, Cameron, Chase and Connor. Brother of Augustino (Rose). Dominic was preceded in death by siblings; Rose, Sam, Josephine, Leo, Mary, Tony, Lillian, Madeline and Joe. A Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, October 8th from 3-6:30pm, with a 6:30pm memorial service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Memorial donations may be made, in Dominic's name, to the American Diabetes Association, 30200 Telegraph Rd, Suite 105, Bingham Farms, MI 48025 - or - the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan, 1169 Oak Valley Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48108-9674. Please share memories of Dominic at his guest book.
