

Donald was a lifelong resident of Metro Detroit. He graduated from Detroit Southeastern High School and from Wayne State University with a Bachelor’s degree in history and Master’s degree in Education. Don spent time as a high school history teacher and also had a long career tending to the grounds at Tiger Stadium and Comerica Park. He was an avid hockey player and fan. Amongst all his passions, Don lived for his wife, children and grandchildren.
Loving husband of the late Ethel Gough for 60 years. Beloved father of Deborah Browning (Richard), Janet Haezebrouck and Charles Gough (Susan). Cherished grandfather of Jason Browning (Kristin), Kristin Zeisler (Tommy), Dr. Erich Haezebrouck (Dr.Carissa Dege-Haezebrouck), Melissa Magnotte (Michael), Ashley Bickel (Korbin) and Courtney Vermeesch (Kevin) and great grandfather of Kameryn Browning, Ian Browning, Autumn Zeisler, Grayson Zeisler and Rylan Magnotte. Brother of Shirley Taylor (Gerald). Uncle of Jeanne Floutz, Joy Morgan and David Taylor.
Don’s family will have a Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon on Monday, January 17 at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd., Warren (Schoenherr/Masonic). Visitation on Monday begins at 10:00am and continues until the time of the Service. Interment will occur at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township following the Service.
Don will always be remembered for his deep kindness and extensions of blessings to others.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers that memorial tributes to be made in Don's name to help underprivileged youth play hockey through the East Side Youth Sports Foundation, 4831 Canyon, Detroit, MI 48236.
