Donica Duty, 85, of Warren, Michigan died Saturday, November 26 2022 at Henry Ford Hospital in Clinton Township, MI. Donica was born September 12, 1937 to George Lazo & Mary Olexa Zorich in Blawnox, PA.
Donica married William Kinis Duty on February 4, 1956 and had three daughters; Mary (Dick) Kennedy, Rita (Tom) Bondy & Anna (Brian) Pefley. She had seven grandchildren: Billie Jo Bondy, Bridgette (Brandon) Brodacki, Janelle (Jason) Stratton, Jaclyn Wyrembelski, Jessica Cumpf, Briana (John) Maison, Kenneth Pefley and six great-grandchildren: Destiny Yenson, Bella & Brady Brodacki, Ronan & Hunter Stratton, & Elon Maison. She loved her family dearly. She was dedicated to family and work. She was a very giving person; always interested in what others were doing. She was a great listener and not judgmental. She worked very hard as one of the first women spot welders in the shop. Then she ran production and was very proud of her abilities and attendance. She was tiny but mighty and the gals at work call her “Boss Lady”. She was a dedicated Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church member and once retired she grew close to member Dorothy Webb. They became best friends and went on Casino bus trips, enjoyed luncheons and loved listening to music with their group. She loved doing Word Searches, watching games shows; Let’s Make a Deal, The Price is Right, and Wheel of Fortune was her favorite. She LOVED sports! Her favorite was basketball as she was a little star on the court herself! She made a half-court shot at the buzzer to win one of the big games at Lincoln High School & was so proud because no one expected her to hit that basket! Not only did she watch basketball, but she watched baseball, football, hockey as well. She knew players and stats and when games were scheduled. Nicknamed her “Coach”. She was a character! She was so funny and didn’t even realize it!
