Donna M. Kanczuga

Donna M. Kanczuga, age 63, died June 24, 2010 at St. John Hospital in Detroit. She was born in Detroit on April 21, 1947, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Angeline (nee: Stieber) Grzywinski. Donna was a lifetime resident of Detroit, and a devout parishoner of Transfiguration Catholic Church. With a strong and abiding faith, she was very active in the church and proud of her association and membership with the Madonna Guild. Donna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a homemaker extraordinaire. Her life was spent nurturing her family with the utmost care and compassion, and providing an environment where love abounded. She especially adored her precious grandchildren. Being the caregiver she was, one of her most outstanding traits was realized through the great meals and goodies she provided for sustinence. Donna loved to cook and her table was always replete with grateful noshers. When it came to her personal enjoyment, one of her favorite pasttimes was joining her friends down at the Bingo Hall. A rousing game of bingo always made for a wild time of fun. She also had quite an outdoorsy spirit and found great delight in the memories that were made while camping and fishing. Donna leaves a legacy of love in the hearts of all she touched, memories that will keep her close always. Donna was the beloved wife of Thomas. She was the loving mother of John (Debra), Thomas J. (Bernice), Joseph (Stephanie), Linda (Michael) Crachiola, David (Aimee), Timothy, Kimberly (Michael) Harper, Michael, and Angela Kanczuga. Devoted grandmother of 10, great-grandmother of 3, and great-great grandmother of 2. Sister of Joseph (Dolly) Grzywinski. Visitation for Donna will be on Saturday, June 26th from 5-9pm and Sunday from 2-9pm, with a 6pm Scripture Service on Sunday, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. She will lie in state on Monday at Transfiguration Catholic Church in Detroit from 10:00am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Officiating will be Father Andrew Wesley. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan. Please share memories of Donna at her guest book.
