Doris and Jerry were very active in politics, once using their home as a campaign headquarters. Doris was also a precinct delegate and was able to go the 1972 & 1976 Democratic National Conventions,...and to the surprise of her husband and kids, showed up on television.Whether sewing clothes or making baby blankets, Doris enjoyed working with her hands while creating some beautiful pieces. She worked for many years at Minnesota Fabrics and saved her paychecks. She was especially proud that she saved enough to buy new windows for the house. If Doris wasn't using her hands for sewing, making Christmas ornaments or sweatshirts, you would often find her in the kitchen cooking. When it came to birthdays, holidays or just a family gathering, she loved to provide a smorgasbord of food. She loved spending time with her grandkids. "Rich, Beautiful Grandma" is how they knew her. She was fun, loving, caring and most of all a grandmother that no one will ever be able to replace.Doris' legacy will not only be one of tremendous love and care for each and every person that passed through her life, but one that was, as she would say,...full on "Vim, Vigor and Vitality."She was the beloved wife of the late Jerome.
