Elizabeth Marie Bolar, age 83 of Warren, died Thursday, November 29, 2018 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born August 21, 1935 in Fair Haven, Vermont, daughter of the late James Frederick and the late Stella Mae (nee: Donaldson) Bunker.Following a courtship that grew over time and embodied some shared joys and pleasures together, the date was April 27, 1963 when Elizabeth and her beau, the dashing & handsome Claude Bolar, made their way to the Roseville City Hall where they decided to make their love official and noted. Having shared a wonderful 55 years together before her passing, they were blessed to parent 3 beautiful children who, in turn, blessed them with 3 treasured grandchildren. And the love just continued on as Grandma's quiver grew even larger with the addition of 2 great-grandchildren to join the family.Like most mothers of her day, Elizabeth was noted for the magic she often performed in her kitchen as she prepared some unique and incredible delicacies for her family. Possessing skills both as a cook and baker, mealtime at Elizabeth's was always a tasty treat for all. But for all who knew this eclectic lady, they'll attest to the two great passions that filled her life,…one included a lot of work, and the other provided countless hours of fun.The "work passion" is one she shared with her loving husband as owner's & proprietor's of Warren's longstanding pet supply store, "K9 Specialties" on Mound Road. What initially began as extending themselves to the care of animals through a homespun business transcended to fulfilling a dream of opening their own store, a dream which came true in 1982. For the past 36 years, Elizabeth & Claude have proudly served their communities pet care needs and have offered a lifetime of support and advise in the nurturing of our furry friends. As for her "fun passion" in life, little could hold a candle to the vim & vigor she enjoyed with Claude on the Country & Western dance floor, kickin' up their heels and swayin' to the sounds of their favorite country songs. When she donned her hat & boots and headed out onto that dance floor in the arms of her beloved, they were a sight to behold,…something that naturally follows when you spend as much time practicing as they enjoyed. She might have been livin' in the city, but Elizabeth was truly a "country girl" at heart. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Elizabeth lived a happy and fulfilling life that embodied an incredible sense of care that touched so many lives in a beautiful and profound way,…whether you had two legs or four. She will be remembered for so many acts of kindness that made a difference for the better. She's gone on ahead of her dancing partner, but she awaits their grand reunion,…in her brand new hat & boots. Elizabeth was the beloved wife of Claude. Dear mother of Ron Schnepper, Donna (Sam) Wood, and Mark Bolar. Loving grandmother of Jennifer Dye, James Wood, Samantha (Anthony) Paruszkiewicz, and great-grandmother of Catherine Dye and Shawn Paruszkiewicz. Sister of the late William Bunker. Visitation for Elizabeth will be held Sunday from 5-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. Her Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, 10:00 am at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Walter Keller. Interment will follow at Detroit Memorial Park Cemetery in Warren, Michigan.Memorial donations are welcomed to Detroit Dog Rescue, P.O.
