Emma Boese

Emma Boese, age 84, died Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Sunrise of Shelby Township Assisted Living Center. She was born on November 21, 1925 in Marjanowka, Poland, the daughter of the late August and the late Florentine (nee: Glasmann) Arndt. Along with being the loving homemaker that she was, Emma also possessed a number of skills and talents which highlighted just how proficient she could be with her hands. When indoors, that would often mean exercizing her creative side through the art of crocheting or, even more familiarly, knitting. When it came to the latter, she was infamous for her work with socks. Known affectionately to the family as "Oma Socks," she made sure that her loved ones were amply adorned with her "knitted creations from the heart." Emma was a great cook and baker, too. As much as her sock creations made for happy feet, her kitchen creations made for some extremely happy bellies. One of her finest dishes, (and her childrens' favorite), was a meal she cooked only once a year on Christmas Eve, her incredible Beef Roulladen. As her children spoke of this wonderful memory, their mouths were watering. And when it came to feeding hungry bellies, there was "always room at the table" at Emma's place. That's just the kind of warm and compassionate soul she possessed. When it came to the outdoors, her hard working hands included one important aspect...a big, ol' Green Thumb! Yes, Emma was the Queen of her Garden and just loved playing in the dirt. To quote her daughter, "Mom could grow a plant from a single leaf." Whether it was her vegetables or flowers, she took much pride in nurturing her gardens and enjoyed reaping the harvest of her tender, loving care,...especially with her roses. Yet, the tender loving care that meant the most to her was that which she extended to her family and friends. She loved spending time with them making the memories that she leaves for each of them, now, to cherish. The lives she touched were many and she will be immensely missed by all. Visitation for Emma will be held on Thursday, November 11th from 2:00pm to 9:00pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00am on Friday, November 12th at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Randy Tomko. Interment will follow at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock, Michigan.
