Ernestine was born on November 18,1930, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Frank M. Zarb and Jessie V. Zarb. She went on to marry the late Richard William Rose and had 9 children. She was grief stricken to outlive her son Gregory, daughter Cynthia and grandson Gregory. She is survived in loving memory by a huge family including: Catherine, Sharon, Brian, Terry, Kevin, Nancy and Deborah, 3 SIL’s, 2 DIL’S, 23 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, multiple nieces, nephews, extended family and friend.
Ernestine loved selflessly always putting others first. She worked hard all her life and never complained. She was known for her infamous one liners which made everyone laugh such as “That’s Life In The Big City” and “That’s The Way The Cookie Crumbles”. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren even if it was a house full. She loved getting on the floor and playing with them sharing stories of her life as a little girl. She loved to cook, bake, sew, crochet and to plant flowers. She had a green thumb with roses her favorite flower. She could also speak some of her native language Maltese and would surprise us when she could remember phrases.
She will be missed by so many who she touched in so many ways and left her imprint on, may she never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers please make a personal donation to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
A Memorial Visitation for Ernestine will be held at D.S. Temrowski and Sons Funeral Home at 30009 Hoover Rd. Warren, Michigan 48093 on April 26, 2024, from 3-7pm. A short service will be held at 6pm with a gathering to follow down on lower level with light eats.
