

Franklin Darryl Young, age 62, died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren. Mr. Young was born September 29, 1953 in Detroit to the late Harold and the late Bonnie (nee: Estes) Young. With thanks and praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to Mr. Young for his service to our country during the Vietnam War era. As a member of the United States Marine Corps, Franklin wore the uniform with pride and served with excellence in helping to preserve the cause of freedom,...both here and overseas. We honor his service and extend our posthumous gratitude for his answering the call to duty with pride and patriotism for the love of country.Upon returning from his military service, Franklin gained employment with the automotive powerhouse, General Motors, where he worked as an assembler and extended the utmost in dedicated and loyal service to the company. During his tenure at GM, Mr. Young proudly joined the automotive family at UAW Local 909, a brotherhood for which he took great pride in being a member.As one would expect from a gentleman that worked with his hands building automobiles, Franklin enjoyed tinkering around the house fixing things and tackling various projects. When he was not working, he enjoyed watching old television shows,...especially his favorites, the old westerns.Franklin cherished his time spent with family and friends. His most special times where those spent with his 3 grandchildren, Gabriell, Olivia and Xander.In addition to Franklin's 3 grandchildren, he is survived by his loving wife, Anna; his beloved sons; Jordan (Tara) and Bryan Young; and siblings, Harold Jr., Richard, Freddie, Fran, and Darlene. He was preceded in death by siblings, Carol, Roger, and Danny.The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 19th from 5 - 9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren..Burial, with full Military Honors, will take place at 2:30 pm on Friday, November 20 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road in Holly, Michigan.Please share memories of Franklin at his memory book above.
