

Gary Coach Kay, of Warren died Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He was born June 10, 1945 in Hamtramck. Gary retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he worked as a mail carrier with a route in Warren. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Center Line. He was a basketball coach at many different schools in the Warren area. He coached high school, middle school, and afterschool programs, both boys and girls. He loved to watch high school sports on Warren Sports Line and listening to sports on the radio. Gary is survived by siblings, Lorraine (Bob) Drogosh and Ralph (Virginia); many loving nieces and nephews; and special friends, Rob & Bonnie Gardner, Mario & Shirley Amodei, and Bob & Alice Jankowski. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Catherine Kay. Visitation for Gary will be Friday from 2-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover at Common (12 Mile). The funeral service will be Saturday, 10:00 am at the funeral home. The service will be officiated by Fr. Mike Gawlowski. Interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit.
