George was known for his dedicated work ethic. He was devoted to the work he did as a foreman, first at the former Chestley Industries in Farmington and then at Macomb Tube in Warren. He worked full-time until he was 75-years old, but he wasn’t ready to quit just yet. George took on a part-time position until the age of 82!
When he wasn’t on the job, you could usually find George at home working on another project. He and his uncle built their garage, as well as a couple houses and cottages together. In his younger days, you could usually find him tinkering with cars. When George found some leisure time in his life, he loved playing the accordion. He enjoyed playing Polka music until recently when he was no longer able to do so. In his younger days, he would even play with his father in bars around town. While lounging at home, George enjoyed watching baseball (Go Tigers!) and smoking his pipe.
Even though George was a hard working man, he still loved the time spent with his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley, his sons, and his grandchildren. He was very generous, and would even help his neighbors in a time of need. George will be missed immensely, and loved eternally by all.
George was the beloved husband of the late Shirley. Loving father of Michael, Joseph (Rhonda), and John Kozlowski. Cherished grandfather of Valerie, James, and Katrina Kozlowski. Dear brother of Donald Kozlowski and Rose (the late Tom) King. Preceded in death by siblings Bernard, Arthur, Gertrude, and Diane.
George will lie in state on Monday from 9:30am until the time of his Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Florian Catholic Church, 2626 Poland St., Hamtramck.
Arrangements entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren.
