Georgette L. Franklin, age 92 of Warren, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Sactuary of Fraser Villa in Fraser, Michigan. She was born on June 12, 1920, daughter of the late Ernest and the late Alida Goedertier.A loving wife, mother and grandmother, caring for her family meant the world to Georgette,...especially when it came to her precious grandchildren. She put the capital "C" in compassion and nurtured her loved ones with the heart of a servant. When she wasn't tending to the needs of family, Georgette enjoyed a number of pastimes, one of her favorite being the care and preening of her yard. Until the aging process took its toll, she spent countless hours attending to all of the landscaping responsibilities and gardening needs. She loved pouring herself into nurturing the many varieties of flowers that adorned her property,...and her neighbors were truly the lucky benefactors of her labor of love. Georgette was also fond of crafting and was quite involved in creating many unique and beautiful pieces from the work of her own hands. She found great joy and pleasure. as well, in getting around to many of the craft shows and touting her wares. Antiquing was another pastime that garnered a great deal of her attention, and she definitely knew her way around the antiquing circuit. But of all the things she enjoyed the most, little else could match the pleasure of a good book. Georgette was an avid reader with some of her favorites being those books found in the mysteries and romance section of the store or library. And speaking of libraries, until its closing, the Warren Library had no greater friend and supporter than Georgette. To say she was well-read would be a tremendous understatement, and her personal collection was truly eclectic.Georgette touched a multitude of hearts and souls along life's path, and was a blessing to all in her own unique and genuine way. She leaves behind a storehouse of special moments and memories for her loved ones to reflect upon with each remembrance that brings her close. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.
