Georgia J. Boutsikaris, age 71, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, following a long and courageous fight. With her passing, she joins her beloved husband, Michael, who preceded her in death exactly two weeks earlier. Their bond was unwavering, and after 43 wonderful years of marriage, they are reunited once more.
Georgia was a loving and devoted mother to her son, Michael Boutsikaris, and his wife, Alyssa Gorlitz. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Brynlee, who brought her endless joy and pride.
The youngest of six children, Georgia was a dear sister to Pamela Tilton (the late Eddie), Deborah Moore (Brent), the late Cynthia Moon, the late Laurie Springstead (the late Gary), and Al Moon (Valerie). She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews—Michelle Havrilla, Matthew Meli, Candace Sereno (the late Bob), Cyndi Christian (Roger), Karrie Kendall (Chris Marcantel), Jonathan Moon, and Daniel Moon—who affectionately and proudly referred to her as their “cool ass aunt,” a title she wore with joy and humor.
Georgia loved life and people. She was happiest when socializing, laughing, and enjoying a good time with family and friends. She loved bowling, playing cards, and especially spending time on the water with Mike. Some of their best years were spent boating together and hosting unforgettable gatherings at the Emerald City Boat Club, where their warmth and hospitality were legendary. Everyone who walked through their door was welcomed like family.
Professionally, Georgia worked for many years as an accountant and tax preparer at her father’s accounting firm and later independently, earning the respect and trust of many through her dedication and integrity.
She had a lifelong love for dogs and rarely had a home without one until recent years. Music was another passion—especially 70s and 80s classic rock, which often provided the soundtrack to her happiest moments.
Georgia and Mike were deeply loved by all who had the privilege of knowing them. Their kindness, generosity, laughter, and love left an enduring mark that will be carried forward by their family and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held for Georgia and Mike at Zef's Dockside Bar and Kitchen (24026 Jefferson Ave, St Clair Shores, MI 48080) on Saturday, February 21, 4-8pm. All are welcome to join.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations are appreciated to the KG Foundation. https://thekgfoundation.org/
