Gerald W. Schreiber

Gerald Jerry Schreiber age 77 a resident of Warren Michigan for over 50 years died at his home Tuesday June 8, 2010. Jerry was born September 24, 1932 the son of the late Gustav and Mildred (nee: Westphal) Schreiber. He was raised in Richmond Michigan on the family farm and eventually settled in Warren with his family. Jerry worked as a tool and die maker for General Motors Fisher Body Group before being called to duty during the Korean War where he attained the rank of Corporal with United States Army. After he returned from the military he went back to work at Fisher Body and would continue until his retirement after more than 40 years. When Jerry was not working he had a passion for cooking, which was to the delight of his wife. Also Jerry was a voracious reader reading any book he could. Time outside the home was spent either fishing or golfing when his younger body would allow. Finally in recent years quite time was spent at home enjoying his family and grandchildren. Mr. Schreiber was the beloved husband of Dorothy (nee: Mowry) Schreiber, and the dear father of Sue Schreiber, Betsy Schreiber, Eric (Barb) Schreiber, and Steve (Dawn) Schreiber. He is also the loving grandfather of Nick, Ben, Alex, Cam, Justin, and brother to Sharon Aron. Further surviving Jerry is his loving aunt Ruth Westphal. Visitation for Mr. Schreiber will be Friday from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile).
