Edwards, Gloria R. (Nee: Milligan) Age 81, passed away April 20, 2004 after a year long illness. She was born November 2, 1922 in Windsor, Ontario to William J. and Hermina Milligan. Glorias father worked for the Windsor Star as a printer from 1920-1950, and was president of Local 553 of the International Typographical Union. An accomplished skater, Gloria was the Rotary Winter Carnival Junior Girls Speed Skating champion from 1937-1939. She was married to Frank P. Edwards on February 16, 1952, and moved to Detroit, MI. After raising her two children, Gloria re-entered the work force at the headquarters of K-Mart Corporation, and retired from there after 20 years. Frank and Gloria have a 34 foot Hunter Sailboat, named Windbird. The couple were active members of the Windjammers Sailing Club for many years. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents & sister Willa M. Mortimer. She is survived by her husband Frank, children Thomas and Diane, two nieces Shelly McCarthy and Alison Thompson and three grandnieces, Tara, Molly & Jessica. Visitation is Saturday 2-6pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 mile) in Warren MI.
