Gloria was the beloved wife of 46 years to the late Alfred Josephson. She was a loving and devoted mother to Linda (the late Lynn) Berry, Mark (Catherine) Josephson, Thomas Josephson, and Lori Josephson, and a cherished grandmother to Feletia and Catelyn. She was preceded in death by her siblings Richard (the late Donna) Schaible, Robert (the late Nancy) Schaible, and Allan (the late Sharon) Schaible. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Gloria had a creative spirit and a lifelong love of crafting. She enjoyed needlepoint, sewing, and knitting, and lovingly made Linda’s wedding dress as well as the bridesmaid dress worn by Lori. She was an avid reader of magazines and newspapers, loved crossword puzzles, and had a true green thumb, especially when it came to her treasured African violets.
She enjoyed traveling, from road trips up north to Petoskey, visits to Amish country in Ohio, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C., to flying out to Las Vegas, where she happily tried her luck at the casino. Gloria was also an excellent cook and baker, sharing her talents generously with family and friends.
Music and movement brought her joy. She loved tap dancing and square dancing, took a senior tap dance class, and often went to concerts at Metropark Beach where she danced with her husband, Alfred.
Above all, Gloria loved her family. She was gentle, kind, and a caretaker at heart, always putting others first and offering comfort, patience, and love to everyone around her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, from 10:00 am until the time of the Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, in Warren.
