

Gloria J. Pomainville, age 70 of Detroit died December 4, 2008 at her home in Detroit. Gloria was born and raised in Detroit having attended Holy Name of Jesus Grade School, and then graduating from St. Anthony Catholic High School. Gloria worked for over 42 years in the banking industry, first starting with National Bank of Detroit which eventually became Chase Bank. Gloria retired from Chases corporate bank center in Detroit, but was last know to many of her customers as an assistant branch manager on the east side of Detroit. Gloria was a devoted daughter to her parents and a loving sister and aunt to her family members. When she was not working she was caring for her parents or visiting with her family members. Gloria had countless friends will be remembered as being selfless friend, always giving of herself for others. When Gloria had free time she would travel with her local senior friends on bus trips and junkets just for fun. However her greatest gift was her gift of giving to others and her family. Gloria is the beloved daughter of Martha and the late Leo Pomainville. She is the dear sister of Mary Jo (James) Wasukanis, David Pomainville, and the late Lorraine Matthews. Loving aunt of Susan, Marti, Richie, Joseph, and Anne. Also survived by many loving friends. Visitation for Gloria will be Sunday from 5-9 pm and Monday from 2-9 pm with an evening Vigil Service 7:00 pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile). Gloria will lie in state Tuesday 10 am, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 8200 Rolyat St. in Detroit, until the time of the Funeral Mass 10:30 am. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Rev. Fr. Donald Sopiak and interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Detroit. Please share memories at Glorias guest book.
