Gwendolyn Louise Rushton

Gwendolyn “Gwen” L. Rushton, age 49, passed away April 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on March 26, 1977, in Lancaster, Ohio, the beloved daughter of the late Danny Joe VanBibber and the late Sandra Louise Van Bibber.

Gwen was a proud graduate of Fitzgerald High School and went on to further her education at Walsh College, where she earned two master’s degrees, an accomplishment that reflected her strong work ethic and determination. She built a successful career in marketing and dedicated over 10 years to JRT in Farmington Hills. She met the love of her life, Jeff, and the two were united in marriage on September 1, 2001, beginning a life centered on love, family, and shared memories.

Above all, Gwen’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved boating and cherished every moment spent with her children, especially supporting them in hockey. She was the ultimate hockey mom who was always present, always cheering, and always putting her kids first. Gwen was known for her loving heart, her devotion to family and friends, and the kindness she shared so freely with others.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Jeff, and her children, Aaron and Lexi. She was the dear sister of D. Edward and G. Kevin (Christie) VanBibber. Gwen was a devoted aunt to Cassandra (Joshua), Thomas, Taylor fiancé Trevor), Paige, Robert, and Angelina, and a proud great-aunt to Evelynn and Victoria. She is also survived by many loving aunts and uncles: Curtis and Michelle, Greg and Linda, Ken and Diane, James, Lisa, and Brenda, and was preceded in death by Gloria, Richard, and Lawrence.

Visitation for Gwen will be held on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road (at Common Road, also known as 12½ Mile Road). Followed by a burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
