Along with her role as a loving Mom and homemaker, Helen also worked outside the home as a plastic mold specialist within the automotive industry. Holding down a job while also maintaining the comforts of home & hearth, Helen worked hard to earn herself some precious “me time,”…which was her opportunity to do some of the things she loved,…like traveling with her beloved Gerald. They made a great husband & wife team at home, and an impressive team on the road as well. As much as Helen enjoyed filling her travel portfolio with places visited and destinations conquered, she found it equally rewarding to have shared it with the love of her life,…the man who swept her off her feet many years ago, the man who said, “I Do.”
Another wonderful memory Helen clung to were the many nights that she shared with Gerald on the dance floor, “tripping the light fantastic.” These two had some moves that would have made Fred & Ginger pause in wonder,…but they were simply there for their love of music and the chance to express that passion through dance. Swaying to the rhythm of the music, Helen and Gerald made it look effortless as they put their own signature to the dance steps that carried them across the floor. They never looked so much in love as they did in each others’ arms, dancing the night away.
Then there was the All-American favorite that Helen enjoyed,…the sport of bowling. Not quite as exerting as most sports, bowling was the opportunity afforded Helen to get a little exercise while sharing some great friendship time around the ball return, as well. Always in search of that elusive 300 Game, bowling was a great outlet that Helen enjoyed while creating some wonderful memories with friends and loved ones in the process. And Helen will also be remembered for the penchant she had in visiting the casinos. Infused with a little spirit of gaming & gambling, Helen found each trip to the casino to be quite invigorating as she gave Ol’ Lady Luck a run for her money,…and often took some home in the process.
But of all that Helen enjoyed in life, nothing could compare to the love and affection she held for her loved ones,…especially her precious grandbabies. Family meant the world to Helen, and providing for them was her greatest passion in life. The life-changing and lasting memories they created together were the strands of the fabric that held them close and enveloped them with a warmth that can only come from the family matriarch,…and her name was Helen.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother, Helen touched a multitude of hearts and souls in her journey this side of Heaven,…may she now enjoy the blessings on the other side as she is once again reunited with her beloved, Gerald. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.
Helen was the beloved wife of the late Gerald. Dear mother of John Pesta and Anthony (Sharon) Pesta. Devoted grandmother of 5 and great grandmother of 1. Sister-in-law to Corriane Kula and Mickey Crowley. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren, Michigan.
