Irmgard Hedwig Braun

Irmgard H. Braun, age 95, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025. Born on April 12, 1930, in Stuttgart, Germany, to Hermann and Lydia Maier, Irmgard lived a rich and full life marked by strength, grace, and deep devotion to her family, heritage, and community.

She met the love of her life, Erwin Braun, at a dance in Germany. They shared 56 wonderful years of marriage before his passing. Together, they built a life rooted in hard work and love, founding and operating a successful tool and die company, which remains in the family to this day.

Irmgard was a woman of resilience and elegance. She cherished her weekly hair appointments and always looked her best, never missing a Friday at the salon. Her love for yellow roses and any kind of flower was matched only by her joy in simple pleasures—especially taking scenic drives to the lake to share lunch with her daughter, Annette.

Irmgard held her German roots close to her heart. She made yearly visits back to Germany, with her last trip as recently as May of this year. A passionate traveler, she particularly loved her many adventures to Alaska and treasured her time spent with friends at the Carpathia Club—especially for Fish Fry Fridays.

She was known for her deep connections with other German families in the area, who over the years became an extended family, sharing traditions, stories, and memories.

Irmgard is survived by her devoted daughter, Annette Braun, and her beloved sister, Christl. She was preceded in death by her husband Erwin, her parents Hermann and Lydia, and her siblings Rita and Kurt.

Irmgard lived with strength, style, and a vibrant spirit. She touched many lives with her warmth and left behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, located at 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, Michigan, 48088, on October 10, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location starting at 12:00 pm.
