Jack Preston

John Lindsay Preston Jack, age 79 a longtime resident of St. Clair Shores, Michigan died Friday, October 22, 2010 at Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit. Jack was born September 03, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan the son of the late Charles LaDell Preston and the late Charlotte (nee: Lindsay) Preston. Jack was raised in Detroit and later served his country in the United States Army during Korean War having attained the rank of Corporal. After returning to Detroit following his military service Jack worked in the trucking industry for his entire life. He worked as a terminal manager for over 20 years with REI Express. When Jack was not working his passion was to be out on the water fishing or boating. As a younger man he enjoyed golfing or his trips to Northern Michigan to hunt. Later Jack and his wife Katie would travel to Florida during the winter months, however Jack enjoyed the simple pleasures in life staying home, feeding and whistling to the birds in his back yard, and bragging about his grandchildren to anyone he could. Jack was the beloved husband of 51 years to Kathleen Katie (nee: Eichinger) Preston, and the dear father of Susan Fanella, Jack (Sharon) Preston, and Debbie (Mark) Trostle. Mr. Preston is also the loving grandfather of Andrea, Lauren, Joshua, Gavin, and Ethan. A Memorial visitation for Jack will be held Saturday October 30th, from 10am until the time of the Service 11:30am, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile).
