

James S. Grier "Jim" - age 89, died on Monday, April 27, 2009 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren. Jim was born January 15, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan. We honor Jim as having proudly served our country in World War II as a sailor in the United States Navy. Following his tours of duty, he returned stateside where he worked, and retired, as a civilian Logistics Specialist for the United States Army. He also worked for the Department of Defense at the TACOM facility in Warren, and as a math teacher in Macomb County. For 15 years, Jim served as a member of the Warren Crime Commission,...where he was known to all as the "Crime Commissioner with a cowboy hat that liked to dance." He was also a member of the City of Warren's CERT Team. Along with his beloved Darline, Jim leaves daughter, Aleta Stacey; sister, Roberta Sliger, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jim will long be remembered as a loving & devoted husband who cared for his wife, Darline for many years. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 1 at 1:00pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd.) in Warren. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00am until time of the service. Interment will follow at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak, Michigan. Please share memories of Jim at his guest book.
