

James Bernard Stechschulte, age 61 of Rochester and Marine City, Michigan, died Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at Harper Hospital in Detroit. Mr. Stechschulte was born February 16, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Bernard I. Stechschulte and Mary (nee: Fitzpatrick) Stechschulte. He is survived by his devoted wife, Margaret Mary (nee: Garvale) Stechschulte. Dearest father of Michael James (Kelly Ann), Joseph James, and Marguerite Ann (Dr. John) Westfall. Beloved son of Bernard I. & Mary Ann Stechschulte. Loving grandfather of Charlotte Anne Stechschulte, James David Westfall, Anna Fisher Stechschulte, William Westfall, Mary Catherine Westfall, and Michael David Stechschulte. Dear brother of Ann (William) Blake, Patty Ann (Charlie) Albus, Bernadette (Jim) Wegerly, and Michael Joseph (Patricia Ann) Stechschulte. Uncle of Dr. Patrick Albus, Brian Blake, Kevin Stechschulte, Mary Ann Micaly, Patty Ann Ilitch, Kate Stechschulte, Janelle Fox, and Madeline Stechschulte. Also survived by hundreds of uncles, aunts, and cousins. Mr. Stechschulte graduated from Redford St. Marys High School, and went on to attend University of Houston Texas where he played football. Mr. Stechschulte founded and co-owned with his brother Michael, Steck-Schulte and Associates, an Industrial Coil Supply business and manufacturers representative business, in Warren Michigan. Jim loved the water and boating, spending his summers at his river home in Marine City and also boating and spending time in Harbor Springs. Jims true love in life was his wife Margaret for over 40 years, his children, grandchildren, and family. Jim was very enthusiastic about life, the blessings of God, boating, his home, cars, people he would meet, antiques, cooking, and his Irish ethnicity. Jim enjoyed traveling and meeting people and sharing his perspectives on life with others. Jim will be so missed by those he loved, his cancer may have taken him, however the family support by his wife, children, Patty, Ann, Bernadette, and nephew Patrick, instilled great love and courage for all, who one day will hear in Heaven another story by Jimmy. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 14th, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1400 Inglewood, Rochester. Mr. Stechschulte will lie in state prior to the Mass at 9:30 am. Interment will be at Guardian Angel Cemetery. Officiating the funeral will be Rev. Fr. Thomas Slowinski. Visitation will be held at D. S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-9 P.M. and on Friday from 1-9 P.M. A Rosary recital will be at 7:30 P.M. on Friday evening.
