Janet Gail Bishop

Janet moved to Detroit when she was 10 years old but loved going back to visit her family. She worked at Mallard Pharmaceuticals for many years before starting at Blakely Products where she worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for over 40 years until her retirement. As a woman of strong faith, she always belonged to a church. She was at Little Bethel Baptist for over 30 years then went on to Beacon Baptist, where she worked as a greeter and helped in the nursery and to Faith Baptist where she has been a parishioner for 6 years. For fun, she spent her time bowling, especially with her friend Loetta.

Janet is the beloved wife of 26 years to James Bishop. The loving step mother of Debbie (Jason) Howard. Treasured grandmother of Tina and Leona Howard. She is the dear sister of the late Jean (the late Arnold) Riddle, the late Robert (the late Shirley) VanHooser, Mildred (the late Roy) Tatum, and Herbert (Louise) VanHooser. The cherished aunt of Keith, Monica, Karen, Alan, Dale, Debbie, and Timothy. She is also survived by her many great and great-great nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, from 3pm until 8pm, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, in Warren. Instate will be the following day from 9am until the time of the funeral service at 10am at A.H. Peters Funeral Home.
