Janet was a very loving and caring daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, who always enjoyed getting together for birthdays, holidays and other celebrations as times to spend with family. She especially liked to meet up with family and friends at restaurants to enjoy good food, company and conversation, and was a valued friend visiting acquaintances for card games, and regularly those in assisted living facilities.
After graduation from Wayne State University with a teaching degree, Janet worked then retired from New Haven Community Schools after 35 years as a kindergarten teacher, loving every minute of her tenure there. She kept school pictures of every kindergartener that she taught over the years in binders, adding to each year and reminiscing over previous years. Janet loved the children and her profession and took pride in her work. For their benefit, she would often purchase her own supplies to enhance their learning experience. During summer breaks and after her retirement from teaching, Janet worked as a legal secretary in law offices in the area, culminating with a firm in Mt. Clemens.
Janet really lived a life of caring for others, and those of whom her life touched are the beneficiaries of her generosity and kindness.
