

Janette Rita Franks, age 78 died Sunday December 11, 2016 at Advantage Living Center in Roseville, Michigan. Janette was born April 21, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of the late Joseph Abraham and the late Mary (nee: Banach) Abraham.Jan was raised in Detroit and graduated Catholic High School. Following her schooling she met the love of her life Roy Franks and the two soon married in 1961. The young couple would eventually settle with their burgeoning family in Roseville and become active Parishioners of St. Angela Catholic Church. Jan was the consummate "stay at home" Mom raising her three boys and also attended and volunteering with their sports and school activities. In addition to being the team mom for many of her boys teams she also was active with the Ladies Guild of St. Angela, the church fundraising, and the planting of the church flowers.After Jan's boys became older she returned to the workforce working as a teller within the St. Angela Credit Union. Jan worked for over 13 years for the credit union before retiring. After retirement Jan continued to stay active... Jan and her husband traveled and visited Las Vegas where they always enjoyed taking in the Vegas shows. Over the years traveling to Las Vegas Jan got to see the Jackson Five, Elvis Presley, and many of the most famous Las Vegas celebrities.Quiet time for Jan around her home usually involved gardening, crafting with ceramics, cooking, and always her daily devotion to her Catholic faith. She truly lived the life Christ asked of all Christians and will be remembered by her family as a loving mother and a friend to many.Janette was the beloved wife of the late Roy Franks and was the loving mother of Matthew Franks, John (Lisa) Franks, and Phillip (Stephanie) Franks. She was the dear sister of Paul (Dorothy) Abraham, and also survived by her two grandchildren, loving family members and friends. Visitation Wednesday 3-9pm with a 7:30pm Rosary Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road).
