Jennie Margaret Semear, age 80 of Warren, died Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. Jennie was born December 27, 2014 in Caro, Michigan, daughter of the late Ignatius and the late Margaret (nee: Miskovich) Lis.Mrs. Semear was a woman with a strong and abiding faith, as well as a longstanding member of St. Martin dePorres Catholic Church in Warren for over 40 years. Along with tending to the needs of her loved ones and keeping the household clean & running smooth, Jennie enjoyed finding the time to dabble in her garden whenever possible. She always found great reward in watching the fruits of her labors grow and thrive through the unique and genuine TLC she poured into her garden. Another noteworthy and wonderful talent Jennie possessed was her incredible knack in the kitchen, more specifically in her baking prowess. Betty Crocker herself couldn't hold a candle to the magic that Jennie produced,...she was truly a master of all things baked. She had a few little indulgences of her own, which took their form in either ice cream, donuts,...or, perhaps, her absolute favorite, a meal at Burger King. And that was livin' large. From a bit of her nostalgic side, Jennie loved to go antiquing and espy some of the memorable trinkets from days gone by. Yet of all the things that brought her the most joy and pleasure, nothing could compare to the love and times spent in the company of family,...especially those precious cherubs, her grandchildren. When it came time for a little extra adoration (a.k.a. spoiling), Jennie had that down to a fine art form. Jennie led a simple life, finding happiness in the treasured things of life,...many of which were not things, but the cherished relationships she held so close. To them, she leaves behind a wonderful legacy of love for all to embrace with each reflection shared. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.Jennie married Roy Semear in July of 1959 and shared 39 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 1998. Together, they enjoyed the blessing of raising five beautiful children; Mark (Melissa) Semear, Michele (Michael) Knoblauch, Jeff Semear, Jennifer (Chris) Black and Diane Semear. Jennie was the loving grandmother of Jacob, Sam, Sydney, Isabella and Jack. She was preceded in death by 6 siblings. Visitation for Jennie will be held Tuesday, January 13th from 3-9 pm, with a 7pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. She will lie in state Wednesday from 11:00am until time of the Funeral Mass at 11:30am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Warren. Interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan. Please share memories at Jennie's guestbook above.
