John Bernard McKay

John was born on May 16, 1936 in Union Town, Pennsylvania to his parents John and Catherine McKay.

On October 20th, 1967 he married his beloved spouse Suzanne and together they raised two children and spent 56 years as husband and wife. He served honorably in the United States Army and after his discharge he continued that service in the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier where he retired from the Dearborn Heights Post Office. John was an avid fan of almost all sports that involved a ball, most notably golf, where he loved the joy of being on the fairway and the challenge of the sport.

He is survived by his wife Suzanne, children Erin (Steve) Hosner and Michael McKay (Megan Johnson) and his sister-in-law Carolyn, nieces and nephews Steve, Karen, Kenny, DeMarie and Brian.

John was preceded in death by his siblings James, Kathy, David and MaryAnne.

Friends may visit the A H Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, MI 48088 for a memorial visitation on Thursday, October 19th, 2023 from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary service at 7:00 P.M.

A memorial mass is scheduled for Friday, October 20th, 2023 at St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Church, 2500 Twelve Mile Road, Warren, MI 48092 at 10:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
