Joseph Douglas Ferrans II, age 24 of Lantana, Florida, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012. He was born on December 4, 1987 in Trenton, Michigan, son of Susan (nee: Spencer) Ferrans and the late Joseph Douglas Ferrans. For his livelihood, Joe was employed as a Pawn Broker. When he wasn't working, the things that brought liveliness to his life were those familiar to most guys,'a love of cars, motorcycles, and music. Where cars were concerned, Joe's favorite was the Honda CRX, of which he owned two of them, enjoyed working on the last one, and wanted to get another one to add to his budding collection. Another car on his favorites list was the Nissan Skyline. Joe also possessed quite a competitive skill when it came to video games. He loved being challenged by its technology, and sharing the fun with others as well. When it came time to escape for a little solitude, there was nothing more fitting for Joe than one of his favorite fishing holes. And being a Florida boy, of course,'a 'day on the beach' held all kinds of fun, entertainment, and attraction for this young buck who was full of life!Another of Joe's favorite pastimes was the enjoyment of sports, and there wasn't a bigger fan of the Detroit clubs than he. Whether the Lions, Red Wings, Tigers or Pistons, Joe was a die-hard supporter of each and his sporting blood always got a welcomed infusion with every game. Along with the Detroit teams, Joe was also a huge University of Michigan fan,...Go Wolverine's! His mother reflects on how she and Joey always looked forward to sharing the Michigan / Ohio State game together. For a little added fun, they enjoyed the Michigan State / Notre Dame game, too. A loving son, brother and friend, Joe had a heart as big as the moon and wasn't afraid to give it away. Family & friends meant the world to him and were precious beyond expression, just like life itself. Each relationship he built was important and had a uniqueness that made it special. Perhaps the most treasured of these was the bond he shared with his Grandpa, the late James C. Spencer. A cherished mentor, teacher, and listening ear,'Grandpa Spencer was truly the apple of Joe's eye, and the two of them spent many hours making wonderful memories together. Though Joe's is a life gone far too soon from this side of Heaven, just imagine the joy on the other side as he and Grandpa are reunited again,'now & forevermore. And with his premature death comes the greatest hurt of all,...that of his dear mother who loved her son immeasurably. Her Joey meant the world to her, and life is just not going to be the same without him here. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally.Beloved son of Susan (Chris Szydlowski) Spencer and the late Joseph D. Ferrans. Loving brother of Heather (Nate) Ferrans-Carey, Bianca Ferrans, and Ashley Szydlowski. Dear uncle of Tayshaun. Very special friend of Nicole Bass.
