

Joseph B. Holland, age 85 of Warren, died Saturday, December 25, 2010 at the Henry Ford Continuing Care Center in Roseville, Michigan, just one day shy of his 86th birthday. He was born December 26, 1924 in Hickman, Kentucky, the son of the late Clardie and the late Lillian (nee: Coffey) Holland. Mr. Holland was the beloved wife of 64 years to Ruth (nee: Armbruster) Holland. Mr. Holland was the loving of David & Ruth Ann Holland, Dan & Gerry Urra, Joseph & Diane Holland, James & Olha Holland, and Jean & Fritz Spohr. He was the loving grandfather of Jennifer, Sara, Matt, Joshua, Kate, Margo, Elizabeth, Vera, Karl, Zachary, Rachel, and great grandfather of Holland and Jason. Mr. Holland was predeceased by his daughter Virginia. Joe was a proud member of the United States Navy, having served in the Pacific theatre during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Kenton. He was also a graduate of Murray State University and following his education worked for the Boy Scouts of America, Dodge, Divco-Wayne Corporation, and as a salesman for Eastland Truck Sales for many years. Mr. Holland was a faithful Christian and devoted to his Gideon Baptist Church where he will be missed by all the congregation and his many family members and friends. Visitation for Joseph will be on Tuesday, December 28th from 3-9pm, with a 7pm Scripture Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. He will then be transferred to Strong Funeral Home, 903 Broadway Street in Hickman, Kentucky. Please share memories of Joseph at his guest book.
