Joseph Thomas Logan, age 86 of Utica, died February 1, 2011 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township. He was born on July 19, 1924 in North Attleborough, Massachusetts, the son of the late Joseph and the late Alda (nee: Norteman) Logan. Joseph was known for being creative and fun, a man who possessed a gentle soul and a kind disposition. With his wonderful sense of humor, he loved to joke and make people laugh. Some of the best chuckles he got were garnered each time he donned his infamous Groucho Marx glasses & moustache. That was just one of the examples of how he treasured bringing joy into the lives of others through his own brand of comic relief. And for as much as Joe was a funny guy, he was also the kind of guy who liked having fun, too. As his children reflect, their memories take them back to what a "Fun Father" they had growing up. He could fly the highest kites, and would often be seen roller skating down the street with all of the neighborhood kids in tow. He was "that Dad" on the block that every kid wished they could call their own. And he wasn't afraid to try new things either, as evidenced on his 70th birthday when his adventuresome spirit found him soaring through the sky in a hot air balloon ride. Joe also had a few passions in life, namely World War II fighter planes, a palate that craved blueberries & bananas, and his favorite, furry friend, Harvey...his pet rabbit with whom he spent countless hours with in the backyard and garage. But there's no mistaking, his greatest passion was found in the lives of his loved ones. The times they spent together and the memories made were the glue that held it all together for him. The lives he touched are immeasurable, and he leaves a legacy of love for them all to remember and cherish. Joe will be sorely missed. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara Logan, who recently passed on January 6, 2011. Loving father of Kim (Randy Higgins) Szymanski, Karen (Dan) Bell, and Thomas (Gina) Logan. Dear grandfather of Emily, Elizabeth, Annie, and great grandfather of Alexandria and Johnny. Dearest brother in law of Peggy (Larry) Ulbrich and Bill Hevia. Arrangements were entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Please share memories of Joseph at his guest book.
