Judith Ann Grieshaber, age 71, died Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Waltonwood at Main Senior Living facility in Rochester, Michigan. A dual resident of both Shelby Township and Marco Island, Florida, Judy's life journey began on April 22, 1945 when she was born in Detroit, daughter of the late Richard and the late Ruth (nee: McCormick) Childs. An esteemed member of a very special group of career women, Judy was most proud of the years she spent as a Detroit School Teacher. With over 30 years devoting herself to the hearts and minds that passed through her doors, she poured the best & brightest of her knowledge and expertise into helping mold the countless lives entrusted to her care. Following a longstanding and distinguished career, Judy accepted her well-deserved retirement. When Judy was able to secure a little time away from school work, and even into retirement, one of her favorite things to do was swim. A warm & sunny day, coupled with a pool of glimmering water, never ceased to call her name and invite her in. It was always a wonderfully refreshing pastime for Judy. Another of her favorites was traveling. The mode of travel bore no concern, she simply found great joy and delight in seeing new sights and adding to her travel portfolio of exciting and interesting destinations conquered. And being the consummate school teacher, it comes as no surprise that Judy was an avid reader. Not solely for work purposes, but also for her own pleasure,…there was just something special and tranquil about curling up with a good book and getting lost in the pages. After spending most of her life weathering the wintry climate of The Mitten, a special "Halleluia" rang out the day she became an official "Snowbird!" Nothing much more said joy & delight to Judy than bidding the cold and snow of the Michigan winters good-bye in exchange for the warmth and beauty of the Sunshine State. Along with the warmth of the climate, Judy was also blessed by the warmth of the many friendships she enjoyed in her Snowbird days. Friends & Family,…that's what it was all about for Judy. Creating memories and savoring the gusto that life had to offer was truly a supreme motivation for her. Yet, without question, there remains no heart, broken more by her loss than that of her beloved husband, Marc. Judy was his everything! Even before the "I Do's" were spoken, she had stolen his heart. From that point forward was a simple love story designed especially for Marc & Judy, and written upon their hearts through the passion they shared so deeply. She was, without a doubt, Marc's whole world. A beautiful wife has become a radiant, Guardian Angel. Judy was the beloved wife of Marc Grieshaber. Loving daughter of the late Richard and Ruth Childs. She also leaves three cousins, sister's and brother's-in-law, many loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Visitation for Judy will be held on Wednesday, July 6th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, with a 7:00pm Memorial Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Please share memories of Judy at her memory book above.
