Justyna Koniecki

Justyna Koniecki, age 86 of Warren and formerly of Detroit and Hamtramck, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at her home in Warren. Justyna was born June 24, 1924 in Europe, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Krawczyk. Justyna immigrated to the United States in 1951 with her husband Zygmunt, by way of Louisiana and California before evenutually settling in Michigan. Mrs. Koniecki was a homemaker who took great pride in raising her nine children and caring for her entire family by hosting everyone for many holiday meals. Beyond being a wonderful mother and cook she also enjoyed gardening, which she passed on to her daughter Olga. Mrs. Koniecki was the beloved wife of the late Zygmunt Koniecki, and the dear mother of Josephine (Whitey) Woytalewicz, Zygmunt Jr. (Pat)Koniecki, Joe (Stefanie) Koniecki, Walter Koniecki, Aline (David) Demkin, Olga (Ronald) Dietrich, Stanley Koniecki, Carol (Stanley) Sznitka, and Victor (Sherry) Koniecki. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Koniecki will be held Tuesday from 3-9 pm, with a 7pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road). Mrs. Koniecki will lie in state Wednesday 9 am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church until the time of the Funeral Mass at 9:30 am. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Rev. Fr. Roman Pasieczny.
