Kandis J. Rush, age 12 of Sterling Heights, died Monday, August 9, 2010 at the University of Michigan Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born on April 14, 1998 in Royal Oak, the daughter of Keith and Sue (nee: Phipps) Rush. Kandis was a strong, witty kid with her own special verve for life. She was a proud student of the Carleton Middle School in Warren where she loved interacting with all of her classmates. She loved to swim, enjoyed her music, and was affectionately known to her parents as the most "honest liar." No matter how hard she tried to pull the wool over their eyes, she would always end up comin' clean. And when it came to handling the pressures of life, her favorite cure-all could always be found at the Dairy Queen. When it came to fun and entertainment, she enjoyed watching the Disney Channel, playing with her Web Kinz, being challenged by a game on the Wii, or taking in her favorite cartoon, Scooby-Doo. She always enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and none-so-much as with her Papa Roger. Those "Grandpa moments" were definitely precious and treasured for them both. Kandis is the beloved daughter of Keith and Sue. She is the dearest sister of Kayla and Kara. Loving granddaughter of Loretta Rush and Carol and Roger Curry. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Visitation for Kandis will be on Thursday, August 12th from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Christian Memorial Cultural Center in Rochester, Michigan. Memorial donations are welcomed to the Rush Children's Education Fund. Please share memories of Kandis at her guest book.
