Karl Edward Bendert

Karl Edward Bendert, age 55 of Sterling Heights, died Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. He was born September 17, 1965 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Leroy Bendert and Suzanne (nee: Sackyta) Adamchick.

Karl grew up in the metro Detroit area before settling in his home in Sterling Heights. He worked for Ford Motor Company on the assembly line for several years. Karl was always the life of the party and loved attention. He loved to entertain people, especially at his home where he would host family BBQ’s and pool parties. Anyone and everyone was invited over to Karl’s home with his “open door” policy. Everywhere Karl went he seemed to make a new friend, drawing them in with his charming and friendly personality. When he was not at work, Karl enjoyed playing poker and hanging out in his “man-cave” located in the garage. He was also a big fan of sporting his white Nike Air Force 1’s—he never let the fashion die. More than anything, Karl loved spending time with his family. Growing up, he was always a father figure to his younger siblings. His greatest joy was becoming a father to his two boys, and eventually a grandpa to his granddaughter who adored him. Karl’s friendly demeanor, love of entertainment, and dedication to his family will be forever treasured. He will be missed immensely by his family and many friends.

Karl was the loving father of Kyle and Bradley Bendert. Dear former husband of Barbara “Barbie” Bendert. Adored grandfather of Adalie Bendert. Cherished brother of Joseph Bendert, Colleen O’Connell, Maureen (Brian) Godbout, Douglas (Christy) Bendert, Russell Bendert, and Michael (June) Peters. Special uncle of Jacklyn, Marcel, Kyla, Keff, Klay, Kali, Jordan, Laela, Ava, Madden, Noah, Leah, Jacob, Bradford, Andrew, and Donald. Predeceased by his parents, Leroy and Suzanne and step-father Jerome Adamchick.

A Visitation for Karl will be held Monday, May 10th from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road, Warren, Michigan 48093. His Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, 11:00 am at the funeral home.
