Lenore Lesnau, age 78 of Warren, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at St. John Hospital in Detroit. She was born January 31, 1932 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Stanley and the late Stella (nee: Swiderski) Malecki. A loving mom, grandmother and homemaker, Lenore was an ultimate caregiver and extended extraordinary care in the raising of her children and the nurturing of her grandchildren. So many of the traditional values that make a house a home, and its people a family, were the things that meant the most to her. Things like being the provider of some great and memorable meals. Lenore loved to cook, and did so even until her final days. Seeing her loved ones around the table enjoying her mealtime creations was an unspeakable pleasure for her. To her family and friends, Lenore was also known as quite the conversationalist. She loved to talk, and enjoyed every opportunity to share the many stories that enveloped her life. Another enjoyment of Lenore's was the time spent at the family's cottage in Port Sanilac. When it was time to escape the concrete jungle, she knew she had just the place to call her "home away from home." And being an appreciator of the cottage-setting lifestyle, it simply makes sense that she was a lover of nature and wildlife, too. From her more unique and creative side, Lenore was an avid and passionate collector of porcelin dolls. With almost the same care as purveyed upon her own children, she found great enjoyment in her elogant & artistic cadre of clay creations. Another talent Lenore will long be remembered for was her unique gift of making gifts look unique. She was a "wrapper extraordinaire!" One could always tell when a gift was wrapped by Lenore. For her, it was so much more than merely encasing a package with pretty paper. From her extravagant ribbon work to the occasional knick-knack or figurine that adorned the wrapping paper, Lenore's gifts were something to behold...even before they were opened. And this is all but a droplet in the sea of love that emanated from Lenore unto her family and friends. She leaves a legacy of care to those whose lives have been touched by hers, memories that will never be forgotten. Beloved wife of the late, Melvin. Loving mother of Sharon (Richard) Kline, Glen (Cynthia) Lesnau, and Paul Lesnau. Dear Gramie of Kelly (Jonathan), Stephen and Chelsea. Dearest sister of Stanley Malecki and Ronald Malecki. Visitation for Mrs. Lesnau will be on Thursday from 3-9 p.m. at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Fr. Roman Pasieczny. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan. Please share memories at Lenore's guest book.
