

Lillian Elizabeth Solnik, age 88, of Warren, died Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital.Lillian was born on July 4, 1923 in Hamtramck the daughter of the late Boleslaw and the late Anna Gielarzyn. Having to share her birthday with our nation, it is no wonder that Lillian not only loved sharing time with others, but was also known for her love of parties. She loved playing cards and sharing time with her family and friends drinking her favorite scotch/soda. All who knew her would not only recognize her infectious laugh and smile, but her great sense of humor. Lillian not only loved her parties and going dancing, but was also an avid golfer, she loved to cook, going on trips with her friends, but most importantly she loved just being around people. Lillian was a founding member of St. Sylvester's Catholic Church, and had not only a deep faith, but also a great devotion to the rosary and the Blessed Mother.Mrs. Solnik was a proud wife of 63 years to Julian "Jack" Solnik. She was a loving mother of Patricia, Marianne (Bart) Farrell, Robert (Nancy), and Thomas (Doris)Solnik. Proud grandmother of Ryan, Nicholas, Megan, Andrew, Matthew and Marissa. Dearest sister of Mary LaBudie and Irene Gielarzyn and the late Edward Gielarzyn. Most precious of all to Lillian were the loving relationships and the wonderful memories she made with her family and friends. She had a heart of gold and touched many lives along the way. Lillian will be greatly missed by all who loved her and will forever remain in our hearts. Visitation for Mrs. Solnik will be held Friday, November 18, 2011 from 3-9 pm with 6 pm Rosary Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road). Mrs. Solnik will lie in state Saturday 9:00 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Sylvester Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alzheimer's Association.
