Linda Diane Steigerwald, age 66, died Monday, December 24, 2018 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. She was born May 20, 1952 in Detroit, daughter of the late Jacob Nick and the late Ellen Mae (nee: Whiting) Steigerwald. For those who were blessed to know this Linda, they'll easily attest to the immense level of compassion she possessed and how she so graciously shared it with all. Whether two-legged or four, she made you feel special and important which came easy for this vessel of God's love. Linda was known for the joy she reaped in being around the young. From new babies to her delight in the youthfulness of children, Linda definitely had a soft spot for God's little ones. And for as much as she loved children, she was equally enamored in her adoration for animals as well. Nothing says "warm & cozy" like the unconditional love of a pet, and Linda knew that in spades,…especially when it came to her precious sheltie, Duchess. Loving on Duchess brought her joy beyond expression and provided countless hours of cuddling and embracing. Linda had a few other loves in life,…like her love of the cold & snow. A true Michigander at heart, she easily embraced the Mitten's winter weather and simply appreciated the seasonal offerings that the state infused upon us all. She also enjoyed an immense passion for reading. When Linda was able to find some quiet time, there was just something pure and refreshing in curling up with a good book and getting lost in its pages,…and Linda knew this sweet release quite well. Yet on top of all that, this little bio would be terribly replete without mentioning the love she held for that special "four-wheeled" creature in her life, her shiny Chevrolet Camaro! The other animals in her life provided Linda with a true sense of giving & feeling,…but the horses under the hood of her Camaro provided an entirely different and invigorating sense of pleasure that was unique unto itself. To Groom or to Vroom,…that was the question. A loving daughter, niece and cousin, Linda will be remembered by so many for so many different reasons,…like her fellow volunteers at the hospital gift shop, or those with whom she shared the duties as healthcare workers. Perhaps it will be by one of her fellow members at Hope Lutheran Church in Warren, or simply by one of her many dear friends. But whomever it was that she touched in her journey this side of Heaven, the story of Linda's life will forever reflect that she did so with the utmost in compassion and care. May she now enjoy the rewards prepared for her on the other side of Heaven. May she rest in peace, safe in the arms of God. Linda was the beloved daughter and only child of the late Jacob and Ellen Steigerwald. She was the dearest niece of Eldon (Janet) Whiting, Evelyn (the late Paul) Tkalcac, and was the granddaughter of the late Lloyd & Muriel Whiting, and Joseph & Mary Steigerwald. She is further survived by her four legged children, her precious dog Duchess and cats Barney and Sadie. Linda was the only niece to her uncle, the late Joe (late Nelda) Steigerwald. She is further survived by many other loving family members and dear friends including Janet and Norm Gottardo. Memorial visitation for Linda will be held Friday January 11, 2019 from 4-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road in Warren. A Memorial Service for Linda will be held Saturday at Hope Lutheran Church in Warren. The family will receive guests at 9:00 am with the Memorial Service beginning at 11am. Officiating the Memorial Service will be Reverend Pastor John Duerr. Please share memories of Linda at her guest book above.
