Lorraine M. Schneider, age 81 of Warren, died Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Henry Ford Bi-County Hospital in Warren. She was born on July 11, 1928 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Clarence and the late Helen (nee: Brenckle) Brunke. The story of Lorraine, as shared through her family's words, reads as follows; "She was a person of strong conviction, honest, straight forward, she listened and understood. She stood up for what she believed in, and she loved her family immensely. Her family lit up her life and her spunk got her through life. She did it all for her 4 grandchildren whom she cherished more than anything in the world and would do anything for. Rosie was her favorite dog,her cherished pet bird named Tweety that kept her company and Lorraine had many conversations with. She helped people all the time. She always worked hard at whatever she did and she never gave up. She enjoyed being with people and going to all her grandkids sporting events. That was her fun. Nice things are what she liked in life. The laugh she had was very unique, it made everyone else laugh, too." Though her given name is Lorraine, she was known more affectionately by all as "Nanie." Lorraine was the beloved wife of the late Carl F. Schneider. Dearest mother of Rachelle (Craig) Roman. Cherished grandmother of Craig Jr., Cory, Austin and Ashley. Dear sister of Kathy (Wayne) Durbin, Ralph (Harriet) Brunke, and Ted (Mary Ann) Brunke, the late Gladys Brunke (Hank) Olow. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held for Mrs. Schneider at a later date. Please share memories of Lorraine at her guest book.
