Beloved wife of the late Raymond for Fifty one years. Cherished mother of Mark (Grace) Vigna, and David Vigna. Devoted grandmother of Rachel (Michael) Paglia, Laura (Chad) Warren, and Dave (Kate) Vigna. Loving great- grandma of Nathan, Noah, and Ava. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Louise was born in Detroit in 1934 to the late Louis and Stella Adamski. Louise was a devoted Catholic, and taught Religious Education for over twenty five years at St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Warren where she was an active parish member for over fifty years. Louise was a proud graduate of St. Ladislaus in Hamtramck which she attended for grades one through twelve. She was very proud of her Polish heritage and her roots in Hamtramck, and had a large personality to match.
Louise was the center of her family. With an impeccable fashion sense, which everyone knew her for, she took pride in making sure her family was well dressed and well groomed. Beyond appearances, however, Louise was concerned with the well-being of everyone she came across. She was the person to whom everyone in her family brought their troubles. Whether it be the middle of the day or the middle of the night she was on call to not only listen, but to also actively become involved in whatever measures were necessary to bring peace to the situation. Louise was proud of, and often mentioned, her open door policy towards those in need. Through the years she took in many a troubled soul, comforted them, defended them, and worked them through their problems. She was always in service to those whom she considered underdogs. Around Louise no cry went unheard. The same love she had for her family was extended to everyone she knew.
Louise had a special space in her heart for children. She could not bear to see a child suffer, and would go to great lengths to ease the pain of a child in need, be it physical, emotional, or spiritual comfort. Her children’s and grandchildren’s friends often felt free to stop in to visit Louise, on their own, at anytime. Louise was so welcoming that there was never a doubt in anyone’s mind that they’d be welcome. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, and friend, Louise will be sorely missed. There will never be another like her.
The family will be Instate at 10:00 am until Funeral Mass at 10:30 am Saturday, January 15th at St. Ladislaus Chapel, 2730 Caniff Street, in Hamtramck. A memorial luncheon will immediately follow the Funeral Mass for Louise at the Gazebo Banquet Center 31104 Mound Road, in Warren.
Memorial donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville FL 32256, and St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 are appreciated.
